Carly Simon

Whilst I was driving back from Hartlepool with the new puppy Whitney, I was listening to The Bedroom Tapes, Carly's last self penned album and I was wondering about the likelihood of her doing another album of her own songs.

Now there is an announcement on CarlySimon.com saying her new album of original songs is out in May.

It's too late now, I am about to go bed, but I have a quite bit say about how this singer / songwriter affected my life.

You walked into the party, like you were walking onto a yatch. That's only Carly Simon I can remember and an album cover of her in a blue dress and big floppy hat. Hope you're feeling better from the Noro Virus. Nasty thing. Anyway I'm back on form too and have finally updated my blog. Oh and before I forget. Happy New Year

How about "Anticipation?" the one about reluctantly agreeing to get married? And a bunch of others?
I am right now listening to Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" (1994)which never fails to make me cry because it is so connected to a person very dear to me and deaths that touched both of us - three of whom were clients.
Music is a powerful art form for me. I am so glad that Carly Simon's songs gave you joy/healing/etc.
You well have a right to be angry, Colin, but you also have a right to be happy and content and you're closer to that than the fear and shame of the past.
Sounds like you're developing that healthy shame they talk about - the kind that says one is limited, one is not all-powerful, that one needs others. That's what a loving parent teaches a child. You are teaching it to yourself. As I tell my granddaughter, Madison, "Good Job!"
