This was taken with my Sony Alpha SLR Digital. Using flash.
This was taken with same camera, no flash. Shutter stayed open for ages. My hands were not steady of course. I think this one is much better. More drama here I think. In fact i could lie and say it was a UFO or an explosion or something.

I much prefer the second shot. I think it would make an intriguing UFO hoax.
It's not all unsteady hands - earth rotation helps too. : )
My dad had purchased a telescope when I was young and it had a motorized thing on it so that the stars would not travel as the earth rotated. I remember that - but no photos nor do I even remember looking through the scope.
Our skys were not clear. Cloudy, drizzle and otherwise icky.
I am going to look again tonight, even if we are a degree off full.
