Hmmmmm - are you 40 years behind the times? Or are Nehru jackets about to make a comeback (it would seem about the right amount of time has passed since they were last popular) & you are very fashion forward?
I couldn't tell if this was a bitchy comment or not. However, my answer is this: I have never followed fashion. I dress to please myself. The Nehru jacket may seem old fashioned to the commenter but they never went out of fashion with Asian men. I think their jackets are stunning and I want one, considered fashionable or not. So there!
First Quarter Review:) Warning a LONG post!

Good for you! I hate the sheep mentality that so many people have regarding fashion. The clothes-buying public have been brainwashed for years into thinking they must have whatever's 'in' at the time. As far as I'm concerned, if the wearer likes something - it's far more in than anything some designer's trying to push on us.
I hope that makes sense :).
I've never been into fashion, but I think you always look confident and unique (and more than a little dashing), which are things I appreciate in people, so stay the course!
Personal style never goes out of fashion. I would interpret it as "bitchy", but I always keep the fact that it is hard to get inflection etc. on the internet.
Either way, I thought you looked fab!
I don't know how the comment was intended, but I like the jackets. I liked them long ago when everyone in the world was wearing them, and I still like them. Who cares what's in style? I used to. I no longer do care. Phooey! You're going to look fab in one!
If clothes makes you feel good to wear, and they makes you look good, then those are "in" in my book. Keep up the wonderful work! And please scratch some puppy ears for me.
What's this? There is some sort of 'fashion' thing out there? Nope, I totally missed it.
Sarcastic way of saying, I dress to please myself and couldn't tell you what was in or out at any time.
I probably couldn't pull off a Nehru, but I think they look cool.
I found a current pattern suggestion for the Nehru or Sherwani, depending on the length. I'm sure the "pure" traditional version is cut differently but I don't happen to have that tailoring knowledge in my databanks. I'd love to talk with someone who does, though!

I don't follow fashion either so I would have no idea how out or in the jackets are. I can tell you that when I clicked the link to see the photos they completely took my breath away. What gorgeous jackets! I think you'd be quite handsome sporting one and can't wait to see which you choose if you do buy one.
Dear Colin-You'd even look smashing in a bin liner!
