Pretty, witty , somewhat eccentric, not overly butch.

German Strap Heel. Which is really just a wider , more oblong, Dutch Heel.
It seems to me this gusset and flap heel fits my foot better.
Another long stretch, but hoping to be more regular

Perfect name, Colin! Love the colour, too...
I have a Captain Jack Sparrow handbag in the making, once I get the dreadlocks and beads sewn on it...
These are beautiful. Love the color - it's one I would never have bought , but made up- wow. I am sure Johnny Depp would love them too ;-)
I have never even seen Hiya Hiya needles. I do have some new ones from Trekking which I quite like. I bought them at their factory last week. They are called "Profi" . I did a little yarn stashing as well. Trekking makes a lot more color ways than I knew.
Have fun in Heidelberg this week. Is is a really lovely city.
Great colours - and I like this heel too. I see you've done a pattern on the heel this time. Is it because it's a rib?
Will you please choose my sock yarn for me from now on? I seem to always end up with the same thing. Your colors are so nice. What is the pattern? Is it something like k5, p1? It's a good photo, but I can't count the stitches accurately.
I do like the looks of that heel!
Love that heel, I will google and look for it. I don't like the heel flap normally and hate the afterthought heel with a vengance. Your sock drawer must be filled to bursting with all these socks you are making?
oh i love your socks. that is what got me all excited about knitting some for me. LOVE your color choices!!
Gee, wouldn't it be great to see Johnny Depp in his socks like you saw Daniel Craig?
Lovely socks, BTW!
oh I am soooo loving this sock! Stunning! the colors are amazing!
I absolutely love your Johnny Depp sock ! Where might I purchase the pattern?

By George, you've done it again. Awesome sock.....I love the colors and I've been doing the "Colin" heel...knit to last 10, k2tog, turn, purl to the last 10, p2tog, turn...etc.
I really do love the way this heel fits and it's so easy to remember.
Hugs Jeane
Colin
You are an inspiration. I would like to add my name to the list
(that I'm sure is long) of people requesting you to choose their sock
yarn. You have the most beautiful colors. I wish I was so
creative. Keep those socks coming.
WOW! Great looking sock and loved the color. Colin, you are amazing!
That is a beautiful sock in a beautiful colorway. I don't think I've ever seen the leg patter traveling down the heel before.
Totally perfect fit, Colin! That gusset and flap heel rocks!
Wow, that's a real beauty, Colin! I love ANYTHING where purple is the main color. Yum. I gotta find me some of that yarn...
Gorgeous socks colin! And I finally figured out who Daniel Craig was. I can't wait til I can knit items as well.
Keep up the good work!
Great socks! (and nice feet, too, I bet they get you around quite nicely, and in good style). Really excellent colors. well done.

Nice socks, am sure Captian Jack Sparrow would love a pair or 2..if you could talk pirates into wearing socks. Hope your trip goes well too,
Great socks as always Colin.
Love that yarn - is there anywhere in the UK that I can buy it? I've
searched Google with no luck.
Don't take this the wrong way...but, jeez, I'd love a sweater of that yarn
in that rib! Does that mean I'd like to wrap myself up in your socks?
I lvoe the yarn and the pattern you used! Gorgeous, and even more sexy than Daniel Craig.
Gorgeous socks!!
We just finished watched an early Johnny Depp movie, "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" (fabulous!)... now, on to Pirates!
M-M-M I just love those colors colin.
Great job on the socks, too, LOL.

Wonderful Colin, you knit really great socks. It perfectly fits your foot !
Colin - I love Johnny Depp - er, your new socks! The yarn is stunning - what a great heel and they look very nicely made.
Great job, as per usual!

Oh my, I will try that heel next. Good job!
OOh, too " freaking" cool!! He is my hero! The Pirates was just the best!
I love all your socks, they rock. You are quick. Thanks for sharing.
Stacey
This is one of the heel designs I could get excited about. I love the way the patterning flows. Really great work Colin.
Thanks for sharing!
thank you thank you for the eye candy! I love your socks - cannot see where you picked up stitches or anything - so professionally done. Beautiful!
Joan (across the pond, but watching Nigella - it's true, I'm a shameless fan!)
I love Johnny Depp and the socks. They're both gorgeous. Cool colours and love the way the stripe coninues on the heel. Nice one. Can you maybe get Johnny Depp to come by, try em on and pose for us in nothing but his socks....pretty please?
Have fun in Heidelberg
cheers
Jules
I am quite take by the heel you used, and your gauge is spot on. A rarely have seen such a perfect sock.
I just noticed I've been to your lovely page before. I recognized the cute dogs. I see dogs everywhere these days. My partner and I are expecting our first litter, well our bitches first litter next weekk :-)
God, those are great socks. You saw DC in just his socks? Wished I'd been there. (sigh, I always miss the good stuff)
WOW love the color!
And the poor mouse? Must be hiding from Hurricane Dean!
I love how your colors and rows match and the heel - it is the BOMB as the kids say!
Now to not sleep when I sit to knit!
Very nice job on the socks. I love the colors and your knitting is perrrrrrrrrfect!
Just as dashing on you as Johnny Depp!
So beautiful, Colin. Where do you get the ideas for the heels? And
was this one toe up? I'm still so new with socks that I tend to go
with what I know will work.
Love them! The craftsmanship is perfect!!
:)
Alexandra
They are simply wonderful-love the colors.
Congrats on another great pair of socks!
