49

Today it is my birthday. I normally ignore it. Not today. I decided last week that I wanted to go out for the day and have lunch out. That is what we are doing. We will finish off by attending a Spiritualist church service this evening.

We normally ignore Xmas too.(And ignore it we do-no tree, no decorations, no presents, no special cooking, no nothing.) This time of year is not a happy time for me. John doesn't like it either. However, this year we are not ignoring it. We are going to Germany and will spend the time with new friends, including Xmas Eve which is the time for doing things.

Enjoy your lunch! Many happy returns of the day.

Remember part of the healing thing is to reclaim things that were taken from you. Perhaps at some time you'll explore the idea of taking back the holidays for yourself.

Many Happy Returns Colin.

Have a happy and peaceful day.
You have achieved much this past year, you may not think so but also in sharing so much with us you have also shown an inner strength.
May this continue into the coming year and beyond.

Safe journeys on your coming trip and my warmest good wishes to both you and to John.

Blessings.

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday, dear Colin!
Happy Birthday to you:)
So glad you are here and have joined the human race lo these 49 years.
(And to me, you're still a kid - I'm almost 5 years older than you:))
Joan
And Froehliche Weihnachten!
I can understand why Christmas was not a happy time for you, but hope that now you can create your own happy time:)
To me, it's about a spirit becoming a vulnerable human being to show us all how to do it right. Obviously we all didn't catch on. Who knows what the answer is when you're dealing with such deep mysteries? But to me, Christmas is about the unconditional love of Spirit:)
And may the Great Spirit be with you!
Do I sense a spirit of (dare I say?) JOY in your postings???
tee hee....
Hugs,
Joan

Happy Birthday, even a day late :-)

hope you had a great day and all was to your liking.

No tree in this house either, but some wintery decorations (snowflakes on the window) and candles, lots of them :-)

Did you make everyone socks for Christmas?

Very happy birthday wishes to you, Colin!!!

Yesterday was my mom's birthday, too! We had a nice quiet day with a few presents and some yummy cake. It's always nice to make your own new memories, so I hope you have a great rest of the month!

Woo hooooo! Happy Birthday! It's wonderful that you've decided to "take back" your day.

I am not trying to boss you around, but I do know a lady who just could not face the day of the year that her son died, until she decided to "reclaim it for herself" and she did a skydive on that date. Everyone reclaims in their own time.

I turned 49 on November 28. I'm a tiny bit older than you and a continent away.

I'm glad you celebrated. It's good to have a day that is a little different than the rest.

I only know you from Socknitters, but I celebrate that you were born. Sorry I'm a bit late to the party.
