Regia Cotton

This is Regia Cotton Java Color (yes USA spelling). Colourway I used is 1176. 400m per 100gm

It is 41% wool, 34% cotton and 25% nylon. It weighs 46gms.

I used 80sts. I knit 18 rows in 1x1 rib using 2mm needles and then 70 rows using 2.25mm. I did the heel and then knit 70 rows. I started to decrease on row 71 and then on row 74 until row 96. Knit one more row and cast off. 97 rows in total after heel. I got approx 36s x 48r per 10cm.

I used one long circular needle using Magic Loop method.

If you look below you can see why I prefer the Sherman Heel, with my minor adjustments.

Very nice socks. I also like Regia cotton, silk or wool for socks. Your hill is perfect, I wish mine were like this, but I just begin with socks... so it's not so perfect !

Beautiful knitting! I love the Regia Cotton also, and what a great looking heel - something I've yet to master.

A beautiful sock with a very well done heel. Love the colour (British spelling ---grin)or the color, if you come from my side of the pond. :-)

Hi Colin,
I do like the colours in this yarn and well done with the sock as usual an excellent finish.
Do you put any thing into the tops of them as mine keeps falling down.

I aspire to make heels as nice as those. I am struggling right now with my short row heel. I've frogged it about six times and finally decided that I had lost my sock mojo and have put it aside for a time and cast on the the second sock. I have to get it eventually, as these are for my sock swap partner. It's not like it's my first one either, I just can't seem to get this one right. I do like the colors in this one and I am also knitting with some Regia right now. It is the first 'sock' yarn that I've tried to knit and I must say, it is very nice. I can see now why it is better to spend a little extra for luxury.

Great socks! I love the Regia cotton. Think I have some in the java pattenr, maybe in rust. I'll have to try the Sherman heel. I usually like flap heels. Hope John's ashtham responds to treatment. The first time I had an asthma attack I was 21, in England on an archeological dig. I went to the National health and they said I had the flu! Singulair and Advair have been very good drugs for my symptoms.

Really nice! I think I'll start knitting socks, now!
I have only done Christmas stockings, but I'm sure the
concept is the same. Katrina

Colin, is this wool/cotton blend yarn better for the warmer summer weather? I'm still experimenting with yarns (have only knit 2 pair of socks so far) and don't know what the various properties are. Love your work.
