SUMMER FRUIT

These are knitted using a 75/25 wool/nylon (Trekking undyed) which I dyed myself using Food Colouring. The design is my own, a 14 st repeating lace pattern where I filled in the holes my making one in the bar between and not using yo's. They are for my friend Gail. For my self, I 'd need a 16 st repeat and possibly up a size to 2.25mm needles instead of the 2mm I used. I used Knit Pro 2mm circulars for these.

It's nice, Colin! It looks like tumbling trapezoids or something like that! I love the colourway--very pretty with the reds running through it!

Hi Colin - I love this pattern, I want to make my daughter some socks with it - can you write out the lace repeat - I can figure everything else out. Love to see your dyeing adventures.

I'd also like the directions for the pattern! Great socks.

Oh Colin! They are gorgeous! Please start taking pics of the yarn before you wind it in a ball so the rest of us can mimic your ideas!

And please, do share the lace pattern. It's perfect for breaking up the color without totally destroying the patterning of it.

What a fun idea to fill in the holes. I'd love to know what lace pattern you used so I could try that for myself. It is perfect for that sort of yarn, which I have lots of!

Gorgeous colors on the socks and a wonderful pattern! Great job, Colin!! Would you consider posting the pattern on your Yahoo Group? Thanks!

P.S. Congratulations are in order, too, so "Congratulations!!" on your and John's upcoming marriage!

What pretty colors! And you are a darned fast sock knitter. I envy that right about now; my feet are cold and I have only four pairs of handknit socks--all in the wash.

Colin,

Very nice dyeing. I've dyed yarns before, and I assume the intensity of the colors is due to the food coloring, right? but how did you do it? the little blips of color are perfect and is that white showing? or a paler version of one of the colors used?

Can you elucidate?

Thank you for taking the time,..if you do...and don't snap at me if you lose some knitting time!!! hahah share the how to's!!!
