Men In Tights

When it is cold, I have terrible trouble with my legs. The pain is much worse, mobility becomes even harder and they burn like hell.

Last winter a female person suggested I wore women's tights. I was not keen at all and didn't really believe they would help. However, after an especially bad time when out, I swallowed my pride and decided to give them a try. I bought some black
60 denier ones. They worked! Trouble is they itched. Really itched. I found them most uncomfortable. However, they did help muchly with my legs so I kept wearing them until the weather warmed.

This winter, I have avoided them but finally had to succumb yet again due to the cold. As I was putting them on, a thought occurred to me: How do women cope with these? They must itch even more. Although I tried to stop it, an image came to my mind....and then the penny dropped.....

You see, no one told me how to wear them and I had been wearing them Superman style - my underpants OVER the hose instead of under.

I am glad to say that I can now wear them without itching.

Oh I laughed and laughed at this - because I was thinking your legs itched - with the hairs going the wrong way and all that. I didn't even think of the Superman style. I'm glad you found a solution to the itch - and may your legs not itch!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season.

LOL Colin, I guess we just assume everyone will know how to wear them :P. Glad you figured it out tho and that they help :).

I make leggings out of stretch polarfleece and live in them all winter. No itchies but with the extra fleece on the inside they add pounds. They don't have feet so I like them better than leggings. I bet I could make some for you for if I had some measurements! BTW I've moved my blog to wordpress to avoid a Beta takeover.

Have you tried "longjohns" made of thin silk? Living in finland and freezing a lot, these are the best for me. They do not itch one bit either. Monica

am sorry to report I laughed a great deal too, and for the same reasons as GJR - never occurred to me about the underpants either!

Loved your blog....don't you have in England what we call "long johns' here in the states? They are long to the ankles insulated underwear. Hunters wear them, skiers, etc. They keep your legs nice and warm. Women wear them here too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

I was thinking as I read, huh, what could be so itchy? And when I got to the bottom of your post I let out a little giggle...us girls would never dream of wearing underwear OVER our tights...that's just not right in our minds. LOL Cute story!

Your sweater is beautiful, dogs are adorable and as for the tights I got a chuckle...but then had to post to say get yourself over to wintersilks.com and order a pair of lightweight silk. I have the same pain in cold weather and these are wonderful!

I laughed and laughed over the tights! I had been thinking it was hair on your legs - I always find tights more comfy if I keep up with the hair removal on my legs.
Knickers are a must!
