Thank you Knitman for putting my video up! It never amazes me how people form opinions about you but know nothing but what they happen to see (as In a short video) and try to figure out someones motivation. Well I'm a school bus driver in Los Angeles for special needs students so Empress of china is out. Gross is just someones opinion and if other peoples opinions bothered me that much I would propably just roll over and die. Alot of folks can't figure out why I do it and to me Its all about the beauty of the Its subjective true enough but my idea of beauty I think I can knit at a nice speed I'm not looking to break any world records but I do enjoy myself and relax and thats what knitting is all about. I love your blog, sock and those beautiful puppies. Knit On Ps I was on Knitty Gritty 3 times.
Oh my, indeed. I'm trying to think of a life and job in which such long nails would not be a hinderance. Emperess of China is about it... Thanks for sharing the absurdity with us!
Wow! After I got over the initial creeped out "Look at those *nails*!!" reaction, I found myself rather admiring this woman. She can knit on DPNs *and* she can do it with those nails! I can't even do that with my short nails. If my nails were even 1/4 as long as hers, I'm certain that I would require a knitted eye patch, because I would have put one of my eyes out.

Well, I don't want them, but she certainly can and hers are very well groomed and she's doing what she wants and, in some ways, I'm jealous because I have such weak, splitting nails that I can't even get mine to grow beyond a few centimeters.
She seems like a lovely person, and that's what matters.
Some people shave their heads, some people wear dreds. Some people shave their faces, some people wear beards, ...........
I'm rather impressed with both the nails and the fact that she's using dpns at the same time! Pretty impressive! (This is from someone whose nails break if they get about 1/4 inch long.) And she looks fast enough to me!
Colin I never thought at anytime that you were saying anything negative. Oh my is funny because thats the look I get most of the time.I know you don't have any control over what they say and people say the stupidest things,If they they only put their brain in gear before the mouth started talking they could figure it out on their own. But I don't sweat the small stuff like the small brains in close minded people. I live those puppies! Knit On!
Yvonne, I'm just jealous - I can't grow mine past an eighth of an inch - but then, hmmm, I won't go any further with that train of thought, LOL! I've seen you on Knitty Gritty and you were adorable:) If the nails make you happy, then be happy! and thanks for taking care of the kids:)!! Joan

That is really gross.

Scratching my head and trying to figure out why anyone would want nails like that. Nope.....can't do it.
It must take her FOREVER to knit a sock much less a pair of them!!! She certainly has the desire to knit so more power to her!!!
