Captain Nemo

Captain Nemo. The yarn is SWT's Tofutsies colour no. 722. I knit them on one 2mm needle. This was knitted toe up, using the Andersson Heel.

This is the first sock that I have knit which used up the whole 50gm for one sock. It seemed to go on forever yet the yardage is the same as for the wool/nylon sock yarn. 226 rows from cast on to finish, excluding heel shaping.

As for the name, well think sea food and ripples on the sea and colours of the sea.

Morning Colin,
I love your socks and the name is perfect. I'm so sorry about your fall, and I'm praying for a speedy recovery. I so enjoy the small glimpses of your life that you afford us on your blog. Knit on....

Those socks are amazing love the colorway the heel is great;) q/a could I get a pair of mens size 13 socks out of 2 balls of Tofutsies? I have only made my airforce hubby 1 pair of socks and it took alot of fortissima but he wanted 9 inch legs on them.lol

I love the Captain Nemo Socks! I have a skein of Tofutsies, but just can't find a pattern I like to work with it. It is so thin compared to other yarns that I know they are going to take forever.

The colorway for the Jitterbug socks I knit is Raspberry. I absolutely love this yarn. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Another beauty, Colin! Love that colourway.

I am working on the Girl From Auntie Rogue pullover at the moment, and after getting most of it done -- shoulders stitched and hood well-begun -- I laid it out flat on the bed to admire it, and saw that...somehow...I had knitted the kangaroo pocket...OFF CENTER. I obsessed about what to do about it most of the night. I was able to detach and unravel the dang thing (pocket, not entire sweater) this morning, but had a whole bunch of live stitches to graft together. The graft isn't as perfect as I would like it to be, but it's a whole lot better than a highly-visible, off-center kangaroo pocket. Oh, well, no pocket now, so what a great excuse to make up a new pair of fingerless gloves.

I'm incorrigible. ;-)

Hope you are feeling better now, and that you don't take any more falls. Ever. Take care of yourself.

Can't wait to see puppy pics when the puppies arrive!
