This is just so unbelievable. How do you justify this sort of thing? So, it's the lemmings again -- they're jumping off the cliff, so we should all jump over it? Of course, the lemmings mass suicide is a myth and so is the idea that the 70's society was the cause of priests abusing their charges. This is just disgusting.
That follows the, "She was wearing a short skirt and halter top and I couldn't stop myself from raping her. She was asking for it!" excuse. ::::heavy sigh:::: Cuz we always know it's somebody else's fault....

On the other hand, maybe it's better he said it - his lack of leadership and asinine philosophy are driving people away from the church, which is making it increasingly irrelevant. Which, in my book, is a good thing.
So it didn't exist before the 70s? Riiiiiight!
