ANCIENT CRIPPLED MAN DESIGN - THEODORE

I am pleased with this sweater. The RAF Blue is the same as the 'Ancient Japanese Design' but the silver is not. This silver is more blueish. The design is entirely mine. I did the design in Designaknit and then downloaded to my Brother 940. The gauge was 32st and 38rw to 10cm using TD 7. The yarn is 4ply pure wool, as used to be spoon by Forsell. I did false starts on body and sleeves and I use HP for the neckline. I did this because I wanted live sts to crochet.

I have never used crochet on a sweater before. I am rather pleased with this attempt, though of course I have learned form it and would do the next one differently. I did the body hem in two pieces because when one is using two colours as I have and knitting in the round, the 'join' is a jog-the colours don't match up. I may well do the collar in two pieces next time.

ANCIENT JAPANESE DESIGN

±

This is a sweater I made for myself, based on an ancient Japanese design ( :) ). The yarn is 4ply pure wool. The gauge was 32 st 35 rows to 10cm at TD7. I knitted it on a Brother 940 using the Garter Carriage for hems and collar.

The fit is very good, the sleeves just the right length. I like close fitting collars but I am not happy with this collar. I think it would have been better done doubled over. It also need to be just a few sts wider as this only just goes over my head.

FINE GAUGE SWEATER

I am very pleased with this. It is my own design. I am using DAK(designaknit) software with the SilverLink 4 and my XP PC. The pattern is one whole pattern of 250sts and 290 rows.
I have knitted it at Tension 5*, the gauge being 40sts and 44r to 10cm.

This is the shelving John is about to put up for me to store my DM's on.

Further down are photographs of my Brother Standard Gauge 940, with the iMac on the left. The other is my Silver Reed Fine Gauge 830 with the XP PC opposite it. this PC provides the patterning system for the SR8300, using a USB cable form PC to knitting machine.

CLYDE

I am especially pleased with Clyde. The shape is my own but the pattern itself may be mine or it may not be. I can't recall. I know I farted about with it in DesignAKnit before I downloaded and knitted it. It may well be a pattern from elsewhere that I have altered.
The yarn is 4ply(fingering) weight 100% wool. Knitted using a Garter Carriage on the Brother 940. Gauge is 32 / 43 per 10cm. or 8 /10.75 pi.

The neckline is just how I wanted it. I do believe it is the first time I have knitted a plain crew like this which fits me just so. I like my necks to fit close but it is difficult to knit for this and still be able to get it over one's head. This easily goes over my head and the collar sits close to my neck.

My usual half raglan set in sleeve.

Side seams match (as do shoulder seams)
