What is amazing about you, Colin, is that you take such a no-nonsense approach to what has happened to and within you - you seek truth and I think your readers sense that about you. I don't know about Dave Pelzer - his story is his story and his books have helped people I assume.
You are an intelligent, talented man, who has had a lot robbed from you and you are on the hunt to retrieve what you can. Good on you:)!!!(Isn't that what they say on your side of the pond???)
Thought I'd tell you, I had a reading today - I think that's what they call it - and it was pretty amazing. It was the first time I'd ever done something like that ever. And I was utterly drained by the time I got home. Do you get tired like that, too?
Just wondering.
Anyway, take care and thanks for putting yourSelf out there. You help us all grow.
Hugs,
JoanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14603206.post-67695030802830446682008-05-29T14:38:00.000+01:002008-05-29T14:38:00.000+01:00Everyone of us blogs for a different reason and ne...Everyone of us blogs for a different reason and never need apologize for what appears on their own blog.LizzieK8https://www.blogger.com/profile/17418678210403829598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14603206.post-13959466481386514162008-05-29T12:35:00.000+01:002008-05-29T12:35:00.000+01:00I don't think there is ANYTHING that's going to st...I don't think there is ANYTHING that's going to stop child abuse. I don't know if you are aware of the show in the U.S. called "To Catch a Predator." Chris Hanson of NBC is the moderator. They set up, with the help of Perverted Justice and various local police departments, sting operations to catch predators, film them, arrest them, and then air them on the TV show. It's amazing the people who show up.

What's even more amazing is that, several times, a guy after whining and crying about it being the "first time," or how it's going to "ruin my life," show up a SECOND time.

It also shows that predators come from all walks of life: police, military, teachers, youth workers, ministers, rabbis. They've all been there.

Talking about it, though, will help victims realize that, like you, they are not alone and that they are, indeed, the victims.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
