I just found out about re-parenting and how important it is to healing, and there you are, blogging about a difficult collection of ways in which you found to heal when you needed them desperately. I believe that you ARE special, and one purpose for the pain you suffered (& the physical pain you still do) is to share that pain with us. I've never felt so emotionally close to someone I never met. Yet your posts, especially one this intense, touch me and direct me in a way that even my own therapist doesn't. Thank you very much for that. And for showing us the amazing ability of color to change our world! It seems like a lot of people have difficulty revealing such personal struggles and I can relate to some (and there must be so many others who can also).

I agree with you that there is a bigger presence, and even though I was raised in a Christian church, I don't agree with much that was taught to us about how to be "right with God". I also believe 1000% in re-parenting being so very valuable to people who are in pain regarding their upbringings. When I was pregnant with my son, I read a book about reparenting yourself in order to avoid making the same mistakes you learned from your own parents. He's nearly 12 and I still use a lot of that book to evaluate my parenting decisions and reactions a lot. I can't tell you how helpful it has been. (not that I'm perfect!)

It can be so hard to see when we're going through something difficult, that it is shaping us for something in the future as long as we don't let it break us. You are a very brave man in my opinion!BammerKThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07982106535621264256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14603206.post-44782927186853312242010-02-03T10:05:36.764+00:002010-02-03T10:05:36.764+00:00Colin,
I agree with Marlene about you.
And life re...Colin,
I agree with Marlene about you.
And life really is one great big 'jigsaw' some find their place easily having a straight edge and others of a more 'interesting' shape not so easily for they have to wait until a few more pieces are in place before they know just where they fit more comfortably.
True, they may fit in more than one place put the picture doesn't look quite right until that place is the correct one.
It may have taken a while and some of the 'wrong fit' places may have been tried by you but I reckon you've got enough 'other pieces' around you now to know that you do fit in, just where you are.
And, I enjoy looking at the picture you are part of.

AnnARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07556228166211965280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14603206.post-31059848437544878392010-02-02T23:32:06.452+00:002010-02-02T23:32:06.452+00:00The way I see it, you *are* special and you *were*...The way I see it, you *are* special and you *were* chosen and you *do* have a life's mission......but we all do, every one of us, including those who, as you say, suffer, die young, or live life in a state of insanity. Each of us has an important role to play even if we can't see it. Each of us is a piece of a giant jigsaw puzzle. Without *each and every one of us* the puzzle would be incomplete.

((hugs))
MarleneMarlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08670952038534759102noreply@blogger.com
